2020 PROGRAM INFO MODIFICATIONS DUE TO COVID-19
The USSSA All American Program was created in 2015 to increase individual opportunities for fastpitch players to showcase their skills and represent their local area in a National event.
Due to the nationwide pandemic of COVID-19, we have made some modifications to this national program. As of Friday May 3rd, USSSA has decided to cancel the remaining USSSA All American Tryouts. The tryout cancellations are in conjunction with USSSA’s temporary suspension of the sanctioning of all events in the U.S. and Canada, which became necessary due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We are calling off the rest of the tryout schedule for the health and safety of our athletes and our tryout personnel.
But there is a silver lining in this unforeseen circumstance and the adjustments we have made because of it. As a result, we now officially invite you to come directly to Viera, Florida, and participate in this summer’s USSSA Fastpitch All American Games, July 19-25 at the USSSA Space Coast Complex.
During the All American Games, you will have your fastpitch skills evaluated by top athletes and coaches and then compete on the national stage in one of the biggest USSSA events of the year, the 2020 Fastpitch All American Games.
As stated above, the first two days of the 2020 Fastpitch All American Games in Viera (Sunday-Monday, July 19-20) will be devoted to evaluations of the individual skill levels and athleticism of every player in attendance. This is an excellent opportunity to have our scouts compare your skill set to that of other players your age from across the country. Plus, the key data from your evaluation will be posted on your player profile page on usssa.com. Know more about your strengths and what areas you may need to work on! The tryout will allow each athlete an equal opportunity to showcase their skills in the following categories.
- Athletic testing
Participants will be evaluated on their primary and secondary position only. Evaluations will be conducted by professional fastpitch players and trained coaches.
By Monday evening, every player will have been assigned a team in her age division. The All American Games tournament will begin the next day, with teams representing the six regions in USSSA Fastpitch: Northeast, South, Southeast, Midwest, Great Lakes, and West.
Each age division (from 10u through 13u) in each region will be composed of three All American teams – a Select team, an American team, and a National team. The Select teams will compete in one bracket, while the American and National teams will compete in another bracket. Each age division (from 9u and 14u) in each region will be composed of two All American teams – a Select team, an American team. The Select teams will compete in one bracket, while the American teams will compete in another bracket.
Each player will get to participate in a minimum of four games during the Fastpitch All American Games tournament.
Each Select team will consist of a combination of the top players directly invited from the tryouts that USSSA did manage to hold early this year plus the top performers from the evaluations we will conduct at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera July 19-20. The rosters for all the American and National teams will be drawn from the on-site evaluations in Viera.
ALL AMERICAN GAMES REGISTRATION
Participation in the USSSA All American Games will be $350. The games will include two team jerseys and a 4 game guarantee (weather permitting). Participants will also go through a full tryout experience. All scores from the tryout will be posted in their guardian account.
STAY TO PLAY/LODGING
It is each individual athlete’s responsibility for transportation, lodging, etc. during the culminating event. The All American Games are a Stay-To-Play event. All participants must book through Anthony Travel to be eligible to participate in the USSSA All American Games.
